Miller’s Hardware first opened in 1940 as Ben Franklin Five & Dime on Park Avenue in Winter Park. Four years later, the store’s founder Robert R. Miller purchased a building on Fairbanks Avenue and transitioned the Five & Dime into a hardware store. Today, Miller’s Hardware is still operated by the Miller family. According to Winter Park Library, the store is Winter Park’s oldest continuously operated family-owned business. In 2007, the business renovated their storefront and gifted the Morse Museum their original neon sign.
