The Fairbanks Inn, known colloquially to regulars as the FBI, opened on Winter Park’s Fairbanks Avenue in 1946. After operating there for several decades, the bar relocated to the opposite side of the avenue where it occupied a former gas station. The club closed after the death of its owner, Milton Mittleman, and the property was sold in 1999. The new owners, Florida Pulmonology Consultants, gifted the sign to the Morse Museum in 2006.
