The walls of the reception hall at Louis Comfort Tiffany’s Long Island estate, Laurelton Hall, were covered in a design of repeating blue-and-green cypress trees, flowers, and arabesque patterns stenciled on a cream-colored canvas. The stenciled pattern was a recreation of decorative tile walls from Topkapi Palace in Instanbul.⠀
