Volunteers at the Morse Museum play an important role in the daily operation of the Museum. They not only represent the Morse Museum collection but also the legacy of Hugh and Jeannette McKean. The most lasting impression that Museum visitors take away with them may be their experience with a volunteer. Volunteers at the Morse serve as tour guides or docents in our galleries and assistants at various Museum receptions and community events.

Docents
Docents conduct pre-arranged highlight tours for groups of all ages and also lead impromptu tours for groups of all ages during Museum hours. The Morse Museum staff provides orientation and training for all new docents. Docent training at the Morse is a two-year program with new classes starting each fall. The Museum regularly offers all volunteers continuing education opportunities through such programs as Morse Monday.
Museum Services Volunteers
Museum Services Volunteers serve as receptionists and greeters at Morse Museum openings, receptions, and other programs. They also help children and their families create artwork at the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival and at other family events in which the Morse participates. Finally, Museum Services Volunteers help with various administrative tasks.
